The Bubble of Humanity

4-8-16 Bubble of Humanity

The dilemma of how to be, what to do with this (Life) is always on the front burner.  But maybe there is no choice.  The conditioning sets you in motion.  It defines your interests and character.  There may be more than one option that could be taken, but that too is pre-determined by what has come before.
So the question then: is there such a thing as clear seeing?  Is there such a way as freedom?  Freedom could only come with clear seeing.

Sometimes I have such a strong feeling that there is no separate "human being", that the category we are trying to defend – even against its misguided self – doesn’t really exist as an entity to control.  It is not true that "I" am a human being.  I can say with more certainty that I am This (Life) as everything is This.

The human being exists within a bubble of attributes – language, thought, history, gender, ideology, preconceived values, and systems of order- networks, media, stories, and generations. The bubble moves through the world, taking in the territory, polluting and destroying and manipulating, interacting with all that is in its path but never fully understanding what it is doing or what it is, or in what context it exists.

The human being within the bubble of humanity lives a very tight, prescribed life.  It does what it is taught to do, thinks what it has already learned and formulated.  It rejects very little, just moves to the other side and takes another position.

There doesn’t seem to be a position in which division and conflict can be rejected.  Thought is division.  Conflict is the defense of the division.  Everything is compartmentalized and maintained.  Moving out of the compartment is allowed but one must reestablish position somewhere else.

And if this position isn’t an absolute, then there must be clarity and understanding.  One must see that thought, like gravity, holds everything to the ground (of the social network), controls the movement of society, holds humanity together and maintains the status quo. Violence, conflict, neglect are as much the established order as cooperation and caring.

When I say/sense/feel that I am not that human being, I am saying that the human being is a ghost, a phantom, a cloud of conditioning, moving without will (although willful).  It is a construct, with impact, and yet without substance.
